“Color is the defining element in my work and a common thread throughout my portfolio. My focuses are creating representational images with exaggerated colors or abstract and repetitive patterns. Both drawing and painting are key in my work, and I aim to unite the two in my pieces.”

Anna Gillis is an oil and acrylic painter and illustrator from the United States. She grew up in Northern California, and attended Lehigh University in Pennsylvania where she studied Studio Art and Design. Post university she lived in Brooklyn, New York and worked in New York City for prominent art gallery. In 2019 - 2022, she was based in Paris, where she was a founding member of the female collective Partout. Anna currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
